Eight years of stories

A house of flavours and gatherings

A journey made of recipes, warmth, gatherings and many memories.

Luz de Minas on the banks of the João de Tiba River

Bistrô Luz de Minas, in the village of Santo André, Santa Cruz Cabrália, Bahia, opened on 17 March 2018. Its roots are in the countryside of Minas Gerais. Charming in every way — its location, atmosphere, concept and the culture it celebrates, from the food to the service. The bistrô is lovingly run by its owners, Said and Renata Dias, who, with great taste, keep looking for inspiration and new flavours within Minas Gerais cooking — without leaving out the seafood, salads, grilled dishes and ciabatta sandwiches served all week. A rustic setting with a magnificent view on the banks of the João de Tiba River, in a calm and harmonious atmosphere with great music, and small plates that, according to the gossips, are worth praying over! (Do save room for dessert!) Bistrô, café, teas and brigaderia. Seating for up to 50 guests.

A place that also became a TV set

Tempero de Família

In 2021, Luz de Minas was a filming location for the TV show Tempero de Família, hosted by Rodrigo Hilbert — taking the flavours and stories of Santo André all over Brazil.

“From Minas Gerais to Bahia. From our kitchen to your memories.”
